There was a meeting at the portals of Heaven.
The devil showed up, banging on the gates, screaming,
“He did it again!”
“It’s over!”
“He’s done!”
“I’m taking him out!”
In a split second, the gates of Heaven opened, and Father God stepped out,
accompanied by an army of angels.
The devil pointed at your miserable, sinful life,
accusing God of everything you had done.
The accusations grew intense.
The devil wanted blood.
He wanted to take your life and cast you into the lake of fire
for everything you had done.
There was no hope…
Suddenly, Jesus rushed out from the gates of Heaven,
clothed in a white robe.
He stood right in the devil’s face,
so close their noses almost touched,
and looked deeply into his eyes.
The devil laughed in Jesus’ face.
But Jesus stood there—unshaken.
The devil sneered.
“You know the rules—there must be blood, there must be a sacrifice.
I don’t see any lamb here…”
After a moment of silence,
Jesus spoke quietly but firmly:
“I am the Lamb of God.” (John 1:29)
All of a sudden, the devil’s face shifted.
“What do you mean?” he asked in disbelief.
“I am going to die for him,” Jesus said.
